Guissou Jahangiri: Les élections présidentielles ainsi que celles des Conseils islamiques des villes et des villages auront lieu simultanément le 19 mai prochain en Iran. Ce sera la douzième fois que l’on élit un président, et la cinquième édition des élections des Conseils, 38 ans après la révolution dite islamique.

Political prisoners held in the Women’s Ward at Iran’s Evin Prison are routinely denied medical care and hospitalization, face severely restricted or denied visitation rights even with their young children, are deprived of regular telephone contact with their families, and are not provided adequate nutrition, according to a report released today by the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran.

Fourth edition of the “International Women’s Film Festival – Herat” officially opened at Gardens of Babur, in Kabul on Wednesday 19 October 2016 with participation of artists, filmmakers, officials of the national and international organisations and people from different walks of life. Armanshahr Foundation/OPEN ASIA and Roya Film House, founders of the festival, organise the festival annually.

The 39th Congress of International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) elected Guissou Jahangiri as one of the new vice-presidents of the FIDH.

Once more 8 March has arrived, but we cannot celebrate equality yet. We celebrate 8 March every year to commemorate centuries-long struggles of women to achieve peace and equality and to remind all actors who mark the contemporary events: Inequality is still reigning in the most “equal” lands on the earth; women are still regarded as second-class citizens in the 21st century. At the heart of Asia, we have our eyes on the women of our region, whose freedoms and rights are still stoned every day and burned in flames of war, under pressures from political and ideological extremism, violence of politicians and discriminatory laws. Nevertheless, they do not step back from their struggle.

The statutes of 4th Simorgh International Peace Prize were awarded on Human Rights Day (10th December 2015) in the context of the Human Rights Week and simultaneously with the 19th anniversary of Armanshahr’s establishment.
