Between March 2012 and August 2013, the Women’s Regional Network tested this hypothesis. Assisted by their local partners in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, these practitioners reached out to hundreds of women from more than 40 different communities to gain a deeper understanding of women’s experiences and challenges living amid conflict and/or in a militarized setting. They found a set of key common themes from the field research that were then synthesized into three Country Reports. The findings from these Reports formed the basis of a new publication, “From Conflict to Security: A Regional Overview of Community Conversations with Women in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.” The Center for Gender and Peacebuilding will host a discussion of the findings from this groundbreaking research featuring two panels of women from the three countries.

Link: http://www.usip.org/current-usip-webcast?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_term=*AfPak%20Daily%20Brief&utm_campaign=2014_The%20South%20Asia%20Daily%206.18.14%20v4

Source: United States Institute of Peace Watch or Listing online to: A Common Peace: Women from Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan Map the Way Forward Every conflict is different, but they all have at least one thing […]

[6,9,88,12,49

post-4388","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-afghanistan","category-asia","category-slider","category-transitional-justice-and-peace","category-womens-rights
["GET
