The Council\u2019s response and lack of\u00a0response to the developments following the\u00a0Arab Spring and the Ukraine Crisis have\u00a0rejuvenated discussions on reforms globally.\u00a0In the epicenter of the debates, the United\u00a0Nations, progress is arduous as interests,\u00a0technical difficulties, and different proposals\u00a0clash. However, with 2015 marking the 70th\u00a0anniversary of the founding of the UN, the 10th\u00a0anniversary of the 2005 World Summit and 50\u00a0years since the last reform of the Council,\u00a0pressure for a breakthrough in negotiations is\u00a0building up.
