International Women\u2019s Film Festival \u2013 Herat requests the domestic and\u00a0<\/span>
\ninternational filmmakers to send in their short or long feature and documentary films the main\u00a0<\/span>
\ntheme of which should be concerned with women-related issues for the one-week Festival to be held\u00a0<\/span>
\nas of 11 October 2015 in Herat, Afghanistan. \u00a0<\/span>
\nThe deadline for submitting the films to the Secretariat is three months and 24 May 2015 is the last\u00a0<\/span>
\nday. \u00a0<\/span>
\nThe 3rd<\/span>
\nFestival is a competition event and the winners will receive the Festival\u2019s Statue. A jury\u00a0<\/span>
\ncomprising domestic and international filmmakers and critics shall judge the films in two national and\u00a0<\/span>
\ninternational sections.\u00a0<\/span>
\nIn the National Films Section, the Festival Statues shall be awarded to the best feature film, best\u00a0<\/span>
\ndocumentary, best animation, best feature director, best documentary director, best film script, best\u00a0<\/span>
\nleading female and male actors, best female child actor, best cinematography, best sound mixing and\u00a0<\/span>
\nbest editing.\u00a0<\/span>
\nIn the International Films Section, the Statues shall be awarded to the best feature film, best\u00a0<\/span>
\ndocumentary, best short film and best animation.\u00a0<\/span>
\nInternational Women\u2019s Film Festival \u2013 Herat was founded by Armanshahr Foundation and Roya Film\u00a0<\/span>
\nHouse in March 2013. \u00a0<\/span>
\nThe 1st<\/span>
\nand 2nd<\/span>
\nFestivals that were held in the ancient Citadel of Herat attracted hundreds of films\u00a0<\/span>
\nfrom Afghanistan and across the world. A number of renowned national and international\u00a0<\/span>
\nfilmmakers attended the previous two festivals, hundreds of the media covered them worldwide and\u00a0<\/span>
\nthousands of people watched a selection of the films. \u00a0<\/span>
\nConditions for participation\u00a0<\/span>
\n1.\u00a0 The deadline for submitting the films to the Festival Secretariat is 24 May 2015.\u00a0<\/span>
\n2.\u00a0 Submitted films should either have been made by female directors or have addressed\u00a0<\/span>
\nwomen\u2019s issues if they have been made by male directors. \u00a0<\/span>
\n3.\u00a0 Participants may send in their films directly by post, email or by sending their URL to the\u00a0<\/span>
\nSecretariat at the addresses below. It is to be noted that the Secretariat shall not bear the\u00a0<\/span>
\nexpenses for sending the films.\u00a0<\/span>
\n4.\u00a0 The films shall be submitted in any of the HDV, HD, 2K and 4K formats.\u00a0<\/span>
\n5.\u00a0 Participants are required to fill in the enclosed form in full and send it with their films to the\u00a0<\/span>
\nSecretariat, otherwise their films shall not be admitted. 6.\u00a0 One photograph from the film\u2019s director and a few pictures from the film\u2019s posters in JPEG\u00a0<\/span>
\nformat as well as clips should be enclosed.\u00a0<\/span>
\n7.\u00a0 If you plan to send the films through the Internet, the files should not exceed 2 GB. In that\u00a0<\/span>
