Reconciliation will be tainted with blood as long as this land is suffering from all kinds of sexual, ethnic, lingual, and cultural discrimination, violence and injustice.<\/p>\n<p>From 300 films that the Festival Secretariat had received, a total of 66 films reached the second stage and screened during the festival days. The competition sections comprised 13 films from Afghanistan and 21 international films. Others were shown in the non-competition section.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The Jury members were: <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ms.<strong> Simona Lanzoni<\/strong>, Italy, Ms.<strong> Kelsey Cherland<\/strong>, USA, Eng.<strong> Latif Ahmadi<\/strong>, Afghanistan, Ms.<strong> Uma Tanuku<\/strong>, India.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. <strong>Mona Zandi Haghighi<\/strong>, from Iran, was also due to join the Jury, but she was unable to travel to Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Winners were decided with a majority of votes as follows:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>International films (Out of 21): <\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Best documentary:\u00a0<strong>My name is Salt<\/strong>, Director: <strong>Farida Pacha<\/strong>, India\/France<\/li>\n<li>Best long fiction <strong>Oblivion Season,\u00a0<\/strong>Director: <strong>Abbas Rafei<\/strong>, Iran<\/li>\n<li>Best short fiction:\u00a0<strong>I say Dust,\u00a0<\/strong>Director: <strong>Darine Hotait<\/strong>, Lebanon\/America<\/li>\n<li>Best animation <strong>The Fried Fish,\u00a0<\/strong>Director: <strong>Laila Khalilzadeh<\/strong>, Iran<\/li>\n<li>Award of the Jury <strong>Ants&#8217; Apartment,\u00a0<\/strong>Director: <strong>Tofigh Amani<\/strong>, Iran<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Afghanistan films (Out of 13): <\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Best short documentary: <strong>Loneliness<\/strong>, Director: <strong>Sabera Rezaei<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Best short fiction film: <strong>In circle<\/strong>, Director:\u00a0 <strong>Masooma Ibrahimi<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Best animation: <strong>Schizophrenia, <\/strong>Director: <strong>Lajeward Haghighi<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Best director: <strong>Khadim Hussain Behnam<\/strong>, for the film: <strong>Conflict<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Best leading actress: <strong>Lina Alam<\/strong>, for the film: <strong>Qamar<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Best leading actress: <strong>Marina Gulbahari,<\/strong> for the film: <strong>Lost bag<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Award of the Jury for the film:<strong> Qamar<\/strong>, Directed by <strong>Nima Latifi<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Best film script: <strong>Masoud Islami<\/strong> and <strong>Jalal Hosseini<\/strong> for the film\u00a0<strong>Maze <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Jury praised \u201c<strong>Flight Mandatory<\/strong>\u201d, directed by Azizullah Haidari, for its innovative notion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Armanshahr\/OPENASIA\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Roya Film House<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From 300 films that the Festival had received, a total of 66 films reached the second stage and screened during the Festival days in Herat.
