It also explores the concept of integrated security and how many WHRDs understand this concept.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chapter two<\/strong>\u00a0explores a wide range of protection measures that have been discussed with WHRDs in the course of this research, including initiatives addressing individual, family, collective and institutional security, as well as measures addressing structural violence and digital security.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chapter three<\/strong>\u00a0elaborates on the responsibility of States to protect WHRDs and the strengths and potential pitfalls of several State initiatives that are currently in place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chapter four\u00a0<\/strong>describes some of the regional and international human rights mechanisms that have been put in place to protect defenders.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chapter five<\/strong>\u00a0provides a set of recommendations for States and other institutions to develop gender-specific protection initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Read more and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.awid.org\/sites\/default\/files\/atoms\/files\/Our%20Right%20To%20Safety_FINAL.pdf\">dowload the publication<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By AWID and Women Human Rights Defenders International Coalition (WHRD-IC) &nbsp; &nbsp; This\u00a0publication\u00a0provides a reflection on the complex situations of women who face threats and violations as a result of their work defending human rights.
