Recognising this, States at the Rome Conference committed to establishing the International Criminal Court \u201cfor the sake of present and future generations\u201d. Various provisions of the Rome Statute, Rules of Procedure and Evidence and Elements of Crimes highlight the importance of the effective investigation and prosecution of crimes against or affecting children, as well as the protection of children\u2019s rights<br \/>\nand interests.
