This database covers the 90 States and two territories which have the death penalty. Global statistics on abolitionist countries are available from Amnesty International.
The database was created by Professor Sandra Babcock of the Center for International Human Rights at Northwestern Law School’s Bluhm Legal Clinic, in partnership with the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty and with financial support from the European Union.
