عفو بین‌الملل امروز در هنگام انتشار ارزیابی سالانه خود از وضعیت حقوق بشر در جهان گفت: بی عملی جهانی در زمینه حقوق بشر جهان را روز به روز برای پناهندگان و مهاجران خطرناک‌تر می‌کند .
عفو بین‌الملل گفت که حقوق میلیون‌ها نفر که از جنگ و آزار و تعقیب گریخته‌اند یا در جستجوی کار و زندگی بهتر برای خود و خانواده‌هایشان مهاجرت کرده‌اند نقض می‌شود. دولت‌ها در نقاط مختلف جهان متهم هستند که علاقه بیشتری به حفاظت از مرزهای ملی خود نشان می‌دهند تا به حقوق شهروندان خود یا به حقوق کسانی‌که در پیِ پناهندگی یا امکانات از این مرزها وارد شده‌اند.
