In Afghanistan, half of all deaths among women aged 15 to 49 are because of pregnancy and childbirth, according to Unicef – and most are preventable. But two imams, Mansour Mahsoom and Najiba Qureishi, are on a quest to educate men and women on the use of contraception as a means to halt the deaths of women at childbirth and lower the birthrate.
