Armanshahr Public Seminars

Armanshahr Foundation/OPEN ASIA, in collaboration with French Institute Afghanistan (IFA), organised several programmes to mark its 20th birthday during the Human Rights Week (4-7 2016), in Goharshad University and the IFA premises, where several progressive personalities of Afghanistan addressed the meetings. This year was the 4th successive year that Armanshahr and IFA were organising the Human Rights Week.

The 154th Goftegu – Dialogue – meeting of Armanshahr Foundation/OPEN ASIA was held at the European Union Delegation premises in Kabul on 10 December 2015

The second day of Human Rights Week started on 8 December 2015 at the EU Delegation premises. The topic of discussion was “What does transitional justice mean to people of Afghanistan? From good will to will power and action to build peace on national level.

The 152nd Goftegu – Dialogue – meeting of Armanshahr Foundation/OPEN ASIA was held at the European Union Delegation premises in Kabul on 7 December 2015, in collaboration with and with the support of the EU, the French Embassy, the French Institute Afghanistan, UN Women in Afghanistan, and the Swiss Cooperation Office Afghanistan.

One of the components of the democratic societies is the establishment of a public domain, where individuals enter an unconditionally free discussion over public interests.

Armanshahr Foundation, in cooperation with the French Institute in Afghanistan, organised the Human Rights Week at the Institute’s premises from 7-10 December 2014.

The Human Rights Week has been organized by Armanshahr/OPEN ASIA for two consecutive years, 2013 and 2014. The Human Rights Week is a 4-5 day public event that combines a variety of programmes centred on human rights

Tuesday, 9 December, was the third day of the Human Rights Week. Civil society activists, students and citizens of Kabul attended the Goftegu public debate titled “What does Transitional Justice mean to Afghans? Going beyond intentions and acting practically to build peace at the national level”.

Monday, 8 December, was the second day of the Human Rights Week. A large number of civil society activists, visual, audio and print media journalists, intellectuals, university professors, students and citizens of Kabul attended the Goftegu public debate titled “The role of media and social networks in defending human rights and democratic processes”.
