5th consecutive year, Armanshahr’s HR Week in Afghanistan: Literature’s role & responsibility in promoting HR culture, Simorgh Int. Peace Prize in Ideal City of Children, “Afghanistan; Unveiling a Never-Ending Tale”, a new documentary, Q & A: Afghanistan & ICC.

Armanshahr/OPEN ASIA joins the 15th World Day Against the Death Penalty. The death penalty is used discriminatorily, often against the most vulnerable people and should be abolished. The application of the death penalty is inextricably linked to poverty.

War after war, we say never again. Enough is enough. 17 July – A day to unite for justice. International Justice Day unites all those who wish to support justice, promote victims’ rights, and help prevent crimes that threaten the peace, security and well-being of the world.

Public dialogue 170 of Armanshahr: “Mobilisation of cultural-social resources to protect abandoned children”, at Gowharshad University within the framework of the Human Rights Week.

A one-day conference was convened in the framework of the Human Rights Week, in collaboration at the premises of the French Institute Afghanistan (IFA), on 7 December. The conference was entitled “Children of War, Refugees and Returnees,” and consisted of two panels: “Children affected by war” and “Education and culture, have the children gone missing?” War, poverty, international conventions and domestic laws of Afghanistan on children, child smuggling, gender, culture and education were themes that were addressed in the two expert panels.

Armanshahr Foundation/OPEN ASIA, in collaboration with French Institute Afghanistan (IFA), organised several programmes to mark its 20th birthday during the Human Rights Week (4-7 2016), in Goharshad University and the IFA premises, where several progressive personalities of Afghanistan addressed the meetings. This year was the 4th successive year that Armanshahr and IFA were organising the Human Rights Week.

The 39th Congress of International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) elected Guissou Jahangiri as one of the new vice-presidents of the FIDH.

The Women & Youth Outreach Department of Free & Fair Election Forum of Afghanistan (FEFA) held a conference under the title of Women and Political participation to release its findings from 8 provincial focus groups and 6 consultation meetings on women and political participation.
