Call for submission of films to 4th International Women’s Film Festival – Herat 2016

The Secretariat of the 4th edition of the International Women’s Film Festival – Afghanistan requests filmmakers to send in short or long feature and documentary films the main theme of which should be concerned with women-related issues for the one-week Festival to be held as of 21 September 2016 in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Simorgh : the Thirty Wise Birds presents 20 photographs of 2012 Pulitzer Prize winner, Massoud Hossaini (AFP) & an anthology of poems translated into English from among 1,000 works, verse & prose promoting peace and rejecting war from Afghanistan, Iran & Tajikistan.

The interviewees dealt with the realities in Afghanistan from different angles. Each interviewee outlined and analysed the various issues and offered solutions and mechanisms which, at times, were quite different from the image ascribed to this country on the international level. Here is a summation.
